The power of intention never ceases to amaze me.
Three years ago, I bought a really nice suit and, with a smile, told a friend that it was going to be my “Oprah suit.”
Two years ago, one of my Soul Currency coaches, the Rev. Susan Zoller of Atlanta, made me promise that I would take her along when I appeared on Oprah. That possibility seemed rather remote at the time, but I promised.
Two weeks ago, dressed in the Michael Kors suit that I bought three years ago, and accompanied by Susan, I appeared as a guest on The Oprah Show.
Oprah will air the segment, titled “Do You Believe in Miracles?” on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. Eastern. I hope you watch it.
This experience confirmed for me the power of intention. But it also (paradoxically) delivered a lesson in “letting things unfold through Spirit” vs. “making things happen.”
I had tried countless ways to get Oprah to read my book, Soul Currency, and nothing had worked. I had all but let go of my desire to be on the show, as this is her last year on commercial TV, and getting invited as a guest is next to impossible. I had tried to make it happen through people who knew Oprah. Despite the book’s great reviews and star-studded endorsements, all of my “leads” led to dead ends. I had decided to let go of my dream.
So maybe you can imagine my surprise when one of The Oprah Show’s producers called me about three weeks ago and invited me to be a guest. I could not believe my ears. The producer said they were putting together a show about miracle healings and, in particular, John of God, a Brazilian healer I know well. I have made five trips to Brazil since 2002, and I have had an inoperable tumor removed from my spine by John of God. (In 2007, I wrote about it here: http://soulcurrency.wordpress.com/2007/09/26/the-miracle-of-faith/)
A week or so later, I was notified on a Monday to be in Chicago by Tuesday for a late-morning taping on Wednesday.
And so I experienced a perfect unfolding of Spirit, effortless and amazing, and got to be a guest on The Oprah Show.
Oprah interviewed me and showed a videotape of my operation. My segment is about five minutes, and yes, I got to sit with Oprah, get my picture taken with her like a little kid, and be thrilled about seeing the perfection of spirit unfolding.
Oh, and, by the way, I finally got to give an inscribed copy of my book (through the producer) to Oprah.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I just watched Oprah show today and found it was absolutely fascinating…to say the least. So much so, I Google to find out more about the panel and I found myself here.
